A Custom-tailored Program for Students Wishing to Study Economics at Paris1 and Fudan
A truly global program
The School of Economics at Fudan University and the Faculty of Economics at University of Paris 1 Pantheon Sorbonne, which are among the leading Economics institutions in the world, have jointly their efforts to organized an innovative international Double-Degree Master Program in Economics, with a focus on Globalization and World Economy. This program aims to provide cutting-edge education in Economics at master level. Since 2008 the program has recruited both Chinese and non-Chinese students who will become key experts in Sino-European economic relations. Participants also benefit from diverse cultures and study environments as they will spend the 1st year in Paris and the 2nd year in Shanghai with classmates from around the world.

This program, starting in 2008, trains Chinese and non-Chinese economists who will become key experts in Euro-Chinese economic relations.

About the Pantheon-Sorbonne University
The University of Paris was created at the very beginning of the 13th century, and has inherited its name from the College created by the theologian Robert de Sorbon in 1252.  Alongside Oxford and Bologna, the Sorbonne is one of the oldest universities in the world.

With eight hundred years of excellence to build on, the University Paris 1 Panthéon- Sorbonne, a descendant of the Faculty of Law and Economics of the Sorbonne, is one of the most famous and largest universities in France. Some forty thousand students are enrolled in 14 teaching and research departments (Unites de Formation et de Recherche) and 5 Institutes, which offer top level degree courses in law, political science, economics, management and the humanities. The university is principally located in the heart of the Latin Quarter, and occupies part of the Sorbonne and other prestigious French university buildings. At the cross - roads of tradition and modernity, Paris 1 is at the forefront of research and education in its fields, and aims to be a major pole of research and education in Europe in the 21st century.

Year 1 : Students will register as full-time students both at Paris 1 and Fudan. The first academic year (two semesters) will be organized in Paris 1 starting from September. For the first two semesters, students will be enrolled in the "Pantheon Sorbonne Master in Economics (1st year)" programme, which is a program specifically designed at Paris 1 for English-speaking students and giving the same course content as the regular program of 1st year of Master for French and French-speaking students. Chinese students will be also offered classes of French as a foreign language, while non-Chinese students will be offered classes of Chinese as a foreign language. Only students who will have successfully completed the first two semesters will be allowed to continue. Students in the double degree will follow a summer semester consisting of 4 level M2 courses at Paris 1 before leaving for China and completing the 2nd year of master at Fudan. The courses and tutorial activities at Paris 1 will be worth 440 + tutorials hours and 76 credits (in the European ECTS system).

 

 

Year 2 : The second academic year (two semesters) will be organized at Fudan starting in September. For these two semesters, students will be enrolled in the "Fudan Master in Economics (2nd year) specialized in World Economy" programme. The courses and tutorial activities at Fudan will be worth 212 hours and 45 credits (in the European ECTS system) including 14 credits for the grading of their final report, which can be either their Fudan Master thesis validated as a Paris 1 research dissertation or an internship report

The total course hours and tutorial activities will be 856 + tutorials with a total up to 120 credits (in the European ECTS system). Courses may be changed, discontinued or otherwise amended at the sole discretion of the Institution delivering that course, and appropriate replacement course shall be identified and communicated to the students.

§  Admission

Chinese students: must pass Fudan graduate entrance exams and interview, with an IELTS certificate (above 6.0) or a TOEFL IBT (above 80).
International students (except Chinese Students): must meet Fudan admission requirements for international students, with equivalent English language proficiency.

§  Tuition Fees

Fee structure:
Students will pay their fees to the organization concerned before each academic year begins. The tuition does not cover students' travel, accomodation or texbooks.

[3].    Statement of purpose describing the motivation for studying at Fudan University in the Double Degree;

[4].    Two letters of recommendation both in sealed envelopes from recommending professors;

[5].    Brief overview of hitherto academic research production (list of essays, papers, bachelor thesis produced);

[6].    English level certificate (equivalent requirements as for PSME);

[7].    Valid passport copy;

[8].    Two passport-sized photos;

The first year is the same as the PSME programme at Paris1. Thus, Non-Chinese students should directly apply for the PSME program and state clearly in their letter of motivation that they want to join the Fudan program.
